Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Numa is a calorie and nutrition tracker. This policy explains what the app stores, why it needs it and what you can do about it. It applies to the Numa iOS app and to the servers behind it.

Who is responsible

Numa is run by an independent developer based in Spain. For anything in this policy, write to alex28042@gmail.com.

What Numa stores

DataWhy
An account identifier created on your deviceTo keep your diary attached to you across sessions. You do not have to give an email address to use Numa.
Sign in with Apple or Google identifier, if you use itTo let you recover your data on a new device.
Your profile: sex, date of birth, height, weight, activity level, goal and targetTo calculate your calorie and macro targets. Without them the plan cannot be worked out.
Your diary: meals, foods, water, activity, body measurements, notes and fasting sessionsThis is the product. It is what the app shows you.
Steps and weight from Apple Health, only if you grant permissionTo fill in your activity and weigh-ins without typing them. Numa reads; it does not write to Health.
Subscription statusTo know whether Pro features are unlocked.
Device language and time zoneTo show the app in your language and roll the day over at the right hour.

What Numa does not do

Who else sees it

Only the services Numa needs to work:

Numa's own servers are operated by the developer, in Spain. Nothing else has access to them.

How long it is kept

Your data stays while your account exists. Delete it from Profile → Settings → Delete account and data and it is removed from the servers, along with the account itself. Backups holding a copy are rotated out within 30 days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or restriction of processing. Deletion is available in the app; for anything else write to alex28042@gmail.com and you will have an answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD).

Legal basis

Numa processes your profile and diary to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract). Health data read from Apple Health is processed on your explicit consent, given through the iOS permission dialog, and you can withdraw it at any time in the Health app.

Children

Numa is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any material change is announced in the app.
